Does anybody have any idea best way to play freerolls? Seems like people go all in on anything? I was big blind with AA raised it 200.00 and some guy went all in with 6-9 off suite and gets straight. why would somebody go all in with a hand like that.

People play free rolls very losely. Especially if the free roll is for less than $500 bucks. My advice to you when you are not in the blinds for the first 15 hands is to not call the blind on any hand that you are not willing to go all in with preflop.Because half the hands in the first 10 or 15 hands of a free roll is either going to have a huge raise or an allin preflop. No need to waste your blind only to have to fold because of some manic going allin with K5 offsuit. You can almost finish in the money in these things by simply registering for the tourney and then turning your computer off. I promise you if register for the tourney and turn off your computer you will finish in the money 1 out of 4 times at least on the low level free rolls. If you have 300 players in the freeroll. Half the field will be eliminated in the first 15 hands. Its almost free money if you play it right.

Chop is correct. the best way to play freerolls is premium hands IN LATE POSITION and DO NOT GO ALL-N WITH ANY CARDS until youare just a few players away from the money..at that point you can begin to GRADUALLY play your regular game.....At the point it hits the money however SIT OUT again....for the next few hands people will again be playing any 2 cards.......realize you are most likely playing against bad players, bo bluffing, no tricky moves. you cant get tricky with players who cant tell they are being trapped. you cant bluff players who think they are bluffing you!.....simply play straight up poker and you will cash a very high percentage of the time

Agree, I played 2 freerolls in the last 4 hours and easily made it into the money simply by playing tight for the first 15-20 mins. Lots of players look at it as though "it's free, so lets see if I can double my chips early before I commit to wasting time on small payouts"

i played in the 4000 Freezeout at Doyle's tonight...doubled up earlier by getting lucky...gave about 1300 back quickly...i'm sitting with $2700 and the phone rings--it's my girlfriend and she needs to go to the emergency room---her cat bit her yesterday and her hand is swelling up.

i click away from table and I just got back from the hospital to find out finished in the money at 24th! i won an stt for $4 so i didn't really care about the entry fee. i won $56 for doing nothing.

i'm laughing at myself because I wonder if the way to play these big tourneys is to just sit and wait and wait for the monsters ... aa, kk ... I have been playing in tourneys all summer and haven't done that great..i must be getting in my own way

Thats exactly what you do against weak players. You cant get away with that against the pros because if you are super tight around pros they will fold everytime you make a big move and your pot winnings will be severly restricted. But against weak competition, and over 90% is weak competition they do not pay attention to your play style and you can rake up consistanly by doing almost nothing except for when you have a monster hand.
